The KAI 7240AS - 9 1/2" Professional Series Scissors is ideal for aramid fabrics. This category of difficult fabrics has given rise to the high-quality KAI 7240AS. With its serrated blade and high carbon, hardened stainless steel blades, aramid fabrics like Kevlar®, Nomex®, Carbon-Fiber, Dyneema®, Spectra®, Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, and Fire Resistant Fabrics are easily cut. So, whether you are cutting industrial fabrics to light satin, the KAI 7240AS is the right tool for the job.
The 7000 series scissors, including the 7240AS, are made of a high carbon, hardened stainless steel. The addition of carbon allows for a steeper cutting angle, giving the scissor a sharper, finer edge for Kevlar®, Nomex®, Carbon-Fiber, Fiberglass and more. The carbon steel allows the finer edge to last longer. This gives the 7000 series of scissors a better ability to cut thicker fabrics and allow for easier use.

I have owned these scissors for at least 10 years and they are still as sharp as the day I purchased them. They cut through 4 layers of fabric so effortlessly even at the tip of the scissors. I have arthritis in my hands but I find these scissors to be quite comfortable. I have purchased 4 other pairs so far as gifts for fellow sewists.

Outstanding shears for cutting the turnout gear I repurpose into bags. I've bought 3 pair so I'll never be without one.

I already have quite a few pairs of Kai scissors, and love them. I'd heard how great the serrated ones are for cutting slinky fabrics, and they do not disappoint.

I have been using my Kai 7240AS scissors for about 4 weeks. I need to be able cut many different materials ranging from 1/2" nylon, dyneema and spectra line, and Kevlar/Mylar laminates. My new Kai scissors have preformed flawlessly. I like the way the serrations on the lower blade grip the material, allowing the upper blade to cut. I have several pair of very good scissors, but now my go-to scissors are Kai.

Nice small serrated edges. Smooth operation. Cuts Kevlar/Aramid very cleanly. I really like these. Mine have gray handles though, not black like the site lists.
