The Kai 7100, 4 1/4 in. scissor is ideal for tasks that require a small but powerful cutting tool. The blade is made of a high-carbon stainless steel that ensures a sharp cut, all-the-way to the tip. It also features large handles made of "Elastomer" soft plastic, which are designed for better leverage and ease of handling while cutting.
Additionally, as being the smallest of the 7000 series scissors, the 7100 is better suited for detailed tasks such as thread snipping, embroidery projects, Hardanger embroidery, beadwork, rug-hooking, appliqué projects, and fly tying to name a few.
The 7000 series scissors, including the 7100, are made of a high carbon, hardened stainless steel. The addition of carbon allows for a steeper cutting angle, giving the scissor a sharper, finer edge. The carbon also allows the finer edge to be more durable, which in-turn, extends the cutting life of these professional scissors.
DIY designer Jane Monzures take us through just what makes the Kai 7000 series so good and also runs through some of the applications best suited for these scissors. You can find them at KaiScissor.com

In the past, I aways purchased Gingher scissors because everyone said they were the best and sharpest. However, a couple of years ago I saw an advertisement for Kai so purchased a pair. THEY ARE THE BEST!! Since that time, I’ve purchased several other pair. They are sharp to the end so your cuts are precise every time. Love them. My Ginghers are packed away never to be used again!!

I teach hand appliqué and these are the best scissors I’ve ever used for doing my cutwork and being able to get those close snips. The points are very sharp and precise.

Love these scissors when embroidering for snipping the loose threads. Being KAI, they naturally cut excellently, right to the very tip. I have stable of KAI scissors for quilting and embroidery. Nothing compares!

I own two pair of Kai Professional scissors and I LOVE THEM BOTH! They are extremely sharp to the tip and require no effort to use. They just glide through fabric! Worth every penny!

I bought these scissors to replace my favorite embroidery scissors that I had used for 54 years, and lost. I could not find anything of comparable quality anywhere in the local stores, and was assured that there was nothing better out there. They were wrong. These are at least as good as my old ones, superfine tip and sharp to the end. You get what you pay for.

WILL BUY AGAIN. Would be nice if they had a nut on the pivot screw to allow disassembly for ease of sharpening. In the meantime they are extra sharp and made from high quality steel which should hold an edge good if given good care.
