The Kai 5100-SER: 4-inch Micro-Serrated Scissors are a uniquely designed scissor. One of the blades has a micro-serrated edge that provides extra grip on even the most slippery and stubborn of fabrics, such as silks, satins and wool.
Additionally, the Kai 5100-SER's micro-serrated blade is ideal for fusible appliqué and wool appliqué patterns and shapes when a precise cut is needed.
And as with all of the our Kai 5000 series scissors, the blades are made of a hardened stainless steel. This allows for an unmatched smoothness in both cut and feel, well beyond the longevity of other brands.

What is serration and what does it do? DIY designer Jane Monzures runs through those questions and some others you might not have thought to ask yet.

I own several pairs of KAI scissors and have found them to be the best for every application. I recently purchased a pair for my sewing partner and she loves them.

I have used the Kai N5100 scissors for the last 8 or so years for my embroidery work. They are small yet comfortable, and super sharp! Their petite pointy tips allow me to reach in and snip that tiny hidden thread that other scissors cannot. I have both sets of N5100, with and without the serrated edges; both function seamlessly for my embroidery projects. Their edge is unsurpassed in staying sharp. I highly recommend these scissors!

For precise cutting, nothing beats these micro serrated little scissors. I do sewing, embroidery, and Sashiko. These great scissors are indispensable. The quality of these scissors is incomparable.

These are ideal trimming close loose ends on embroidery patterns! The only drawback is they are sized for small female fingers, and I'm of the opposite gender. I know, I'm in the very small minority when it comes to embroidery. :) Never purchased a bad pair of scissors made by Kai. The best!

Sharp neat cuts out of small efficient scissors. They work great for trim when sewing, embroidering and appliques.

purchased these to replace a dropped pair. I really needed the super sharp points for detailed snips in my cutwork. These are perfect for the job.
